Good morning everyone!
Today our sequence of lessons follows our usual Wednesday timetable. We will have our usual zoom registration at 10am, followed by a short tutor group session.
I will do my best to reply to emails as soon as I can, and if you have any questions, please do get in touch. Tomorrow's topic lesson will be an art based task, so if you don't have any paint at home, let me know and I will do my best to find some for you to use.
Have a fun day, and enjoy some time in the sun!
The main maths task for Year 1 children is to work on counting in 5s. The Year 2 children will be continuing their work on 2D and 3D shapes.
Year 1 Learning Objective – To count in 5s.
Watch the clip and then listen to the song. You will find with the worksheet I have added a hundred square which the children might find useful to use.
Year 2 Learning objective – To count sides on 2D and 3D shapes.
Watch the clip below about 2D and 3D shapes, and then have a look at the worksheet.
Click on the link and choose the set of times tables you are practicing at the moment. If you would prefer, you can look at one of the other multiplication games we have used in the past.
Look carefully at the image on the worksheet and see if you can make inferences about it based on what you see. Remember you can use your imagination to answer the questions, but do make sure you explain your ideas clearly in complete sentences.
Think about the medicine George made for his Grandma, then write a crazy recipe of your own. Watch the zoom clip first for some ideas about the layout and some of the verbs you might want to use. There is not a sheet for this, so you can design your own layout, or use a computer if you would prefer. I have put the link to the whole of the 'George's Marvellous Medicine' book below, in case you want to look at the first part of the story again for some ideas.
Year 1 Learning objective – To use capital letters correctly.
Watch the fun song below, then have a look at the sheet and see if you can work out where the capital letters are needed. I have also added a sheet which shows lower case, and capital letters and how they should be formed correctly, which may be helpful to look at too.
Year 2 Learning objective – To identify different word types.
Watch the powerpoint video, then have a look at the worksheet. We will be looking at different word types throughout the school year, so do not worry of you can't remember them all yet. There are some helpful reminders on the work sheet too.
If you are in my group for GPS live lessons on Tuesday, then look at this game.
