Good morning everyone.
Today our sequence of lessons follows our usual Thursday timetable, which includes a P.E session. Also, today there will be a group working on phonics, with Mrs Trusler at 10.45. I hope you all have a fun day!
The main maths task for Year 1 children is to continue their work counting in 5s. The Year 2 children will be counting the vertices on 2D shapes.
Year 1 - Learning objective - Count in 5s
Year 2 - Learning Objective - To count vertices on 2D shapes.
Watch the clip about counting vertices (corners of shapes) and then have a look at the worksheet below.
Click on the game below, and choose multiplication, then have select the times tables you have been practicing. If you would prefer to look at another game we have used, that is absolutely fine too.
Mental Maths Train - A Four Operations Game (topmarks.co.uk)
Learning objective - To retrieve information from a short film clip.
Today the reading task is linked with a short film clip, from a children's program from the 1970s. It was one of my favourite shows when I was little, so I do hope you like it too!
Watch the clip, and then see if you can answer questions about it.
Learning objective – To experiment with bubble painting to create interesting effects.
Watch the zoom video, and then see what interesting effects you can make. If you need any resources for this task, I have put some things outside of the front door of the school, so do help yourself if you need to.
Y1 – Learning objective – To identify whether a sentence is a statement or question.
Watch the power point and the fun song below, then have a look at the worksheet.
Y2 – Learning Objective - Using the correct word to change word into the past tense.
Look at the worksheet below, can you choose the correct word to change the word into the past tense? For example;
I see a bird. (This is the present tense)
I saw a bird. (This is the past tense)
Today in phonics we will be looking at some words with our spelling pattern for the week and putting then into sentences of our own.
Choose one of these workouts to try at home, or go for a fun scooter or bike ride, or even a long walk, have fun!
