Good morning everyone. Today our sequence of lessons follows our usual Friday timetable, which includes a P.S.H.E session. Also, today there will be a group working on phonics, with Mrs Trusler at 10.45.
The main maths task for Year 1 children is to complete a mini assessment task. You can ask your parents or carers to read the questions, but see if you can work out the answers on your own.
Year 2 - Learning Objective - To draw 2 D shapes.
Today Year 2 children will be drawing 2D shapes. You will need a ruler or a straight edge to help you.
Watch the video and then have a look at the sheet.
Today for times tables do a test of the set you have been practicing, and don’t forget to let me know your results, good luck everyone!
Learning objective - To think about the vocabulary used in a non-fiction text.
You can watch the zoom clip of the book being read aloud, or if you would prefer, click on the Oxford Owl link to read the book for yourself. Then see if you can answer the vocabulary based questions about it.
Make a slush drink by freezing a cup of juice. How long does it take to freeze? How about making different coloured drinks by mixing different juices? Record your investigation in a scientific report.
Complete your spelling test for your group, and then email me your results. Good luck everyone!
I have put the spellings below for you to check your answers.
As it is Friday and you have all been working so hard, our phonics session today will be playing a game. Choose which one you like from the links below.
Linking with our topic, and in particular our work on 'George's Marvellous Medicine', look at a range of bottles or containers that contain dangerous liquids, such as cleaning and medicinal products. Talk about the hazards of touching dangerous mixtures and talk about your opinions on how they should be stored and kept safe. Then, make labels and signs to stick on the front of a medicine cabinet or cleaning cupboard to warn other children about the dangers. You can use a computer if you prefer.
