Today for our maths lesson we are going to begin by playing the snowball game for a warm up.

Year 1 children can look at - Recall and use doubles of all numbers to 10.

Year 2 children can look at multiplication.



The main maths tasks are looking at numbers to 50 for Year 1 children and Year 2 children will be doing some more work on tally charts. Watch the clips listed below and then go to the worksheet for your year group.

Learning objective -  To use books or the internet to research Guinness World record holders, and their superhuman achievements.


In our topic lesson today I would like you to use either books or the internet to research World record holders with superhuman powers. Make sure you have a grown up with you when you use the internet. When you have chosen someone make a mini fact file about them. You can type this if you would prefer.

Year 1 – Learning objective -To correctly use a question mark or exclamation mark in a sentence.


Year 2 – Learning objective – To look at how apostrophes are used in contractions.


Year 1 children will be working on punctuation, and looking at whether to add a question mark or exclamation mark at the end of a sentence. Watch the power point video first, then have a look at the sheet below. You do not need to print it out.


Year 2 children are looking at how apostrophes are used in contracted words. Watch the YouTube clip, don't worry that it says Year 1, then have a look at the worksheet.
