Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well?
Today you will see the home learning for the day. You will see another writing session is planned and this will help the children be prepared for the writing task tomorrow. We also have P.E activities and music as we usually would on a Tuesday.
Have a lovely day everyone, and if you have any questions, do email me, and I will do my best to answer you as quickly as I can.
The main maths task for Year 1 children today is to compare heights. Watch the clips below for the activity.
There is no worksheet today, so just complete the practical tasks mentioned in the clip.
Year 1 - Learning objective – To compare heights of objects.
Year 2 - Learning Objective – To draw lines of symmetry.
Today Year 2 children will continue their work on lines of symmetry in shapes, this time drawing the whole shape based on where the lines of symmetry are. Watch the clip below, and then have a look at the sheet.
Watch the clip to recap on your two times tables.
Watch the zoom video below, and you might want to watch the YouTube clip for more ideas too. There is a story mountain planning sheet you may wish to use, or you can make your own story board or story web. Remember to plan for a clear beginning, middle and end to your story.
Have a look at the names of some of the recipes from Roald Dahl's 'Revolving Recipes' book, on the sheet below.
Imagine what ingredients they could contain, and what they might taste like. Then choose one to write a brief description about.
Year 1 Learning Objective - To recognise verbs in sentences.
Watch the power point video, and the clip, and then look at the worksheet about verbs.
Year 2 Learning objective - To begin to understand imperative verbs.
Watch the power point and the BBC bitesize clip below, looking at imperative verbs. Then see if you can spot the imperative verbs in the sheet below.
Play the Yeti game and see if you can help the penguin cross the bridge.
Look at the sheet below for the P.E activities for today. You might decide to have a walk or bike ride instead. Have fun!
