For Maths today, we are going to be adding fractions with the same denominator. Please first go through the PowerPoint below. Then complete the worksheet found below on this page (Year 3 and 4 have separate ones).

Following on from the topic lesson on Wednesday, we would like you to continue finding information about several areas of the Native American Iroquois tribe and organise these in to some subheadings such as farming, hunting, clothing etc. Below are some key facts and subheadings about the Iroquibe tribe you may like to use. You do not need to print these out.


If you have completed the research above, you may like to design a fact file, using either pencil and paper, or on the computer. You may like to use the information sheet below to help you which lists some of the features of a fact file. We would love to see any completed fact files uploaded via the saplings email address.


For anyone who has completed all of the above, please have a look at the additional activities found at the end of this page which are related to our Mental health awareness week.

For your reading task today, you have a picture and the aim of this is to use our imagination and think outside of the box.  Please can you answer these comprehension questions below.

  1. Who/what are these things that are approaching?
  2. Are the people right to be wary?
  3. Do you think the new arrivals mean harm or do they come in peace?
  4. How many of them do you think they are?
  5. Where have they come from?
  6. Who is the character telling the story?
  7. How will people deal with this ‘threat’?
  8. Who controls the airships?
