Love to Learn - Learn to Love

Home Learning January 2021

Welcome to all of our pupils and Sedley's families.

Seeing as we cannot be together to continue our schooling as we normally would right now, we have created this page to ensure that you have all of the information you need to keep moving forwards with your education

Please remember we are still here to support you in any way that we can, so do contact us if anything is unclear or you seem to be missing any information.

On your class tab, you will find home-learning to work from.

Here you can expect:

  • A daily introduction detailing the lessons provided and a rough structure for your day.

  • Lessons and tasks for Maths, Times Tables, GPS, Reading and from your Learning Project for the term.

  • Lessons and tasks will be provided for you in a range of formats, including PowerPoint presentations with teacher voiceovers, recorded lessons and off-screen activities.

  • For our Reception children they will receive tasks related to phonics, writing, maths and other areas of the EY framework.

Please don't forget to attend your registration window, links for this will be emailed to you:

  • Oaks - 9.00am
  • Acorns - 9.30am
  • Seedlings - 10.00am
  • Saplings - 10.30am

This is also an opportunity for you to see your teacher, let them know how you have been getting on with your home-learning and ask any questions so that you can continue to progress with your work.

You can access your registration using the link that has been provided to you. Please note, the link will be the same each day.

We hope you have fun carrying out your learning at home.

Please keep all of your work, including any pictures to share when we see you again, alternatively you can email them to your class group's email address.

Your teacher will receive your work and provide feedback to you.

Gravesham District Libraries

We know many families need all the help they can get at this challenging time. While Lockdown No. 3 is in progress, we wanted to share that Libraries still have lots of resources available for children and their families that can support home learning. Please see the two information sheets below.

One information sheet lists some of the many library eResources that families can use, including:

  • Families can join and manage their cards online too (library cards are free).
  • Thousands of free eBooks and eAudiobooks – both stories and information books
  • Free online resources to help with home learning
  • Free eMagazines and eNewspapers - lots of titles to choose from
  • Our Ask a Kent Librarian service can help with accessing digital resources on your own device(s). If you’re stuck with this, or any other query, they can help.

The other information sheet covers online safety, highlighting a range of helpful free resources that families can use, including:

  • Home activity packs – available for different age groups
  • Family activities on topics such as cyber security and sharing images
  • Online safety information available as text or in short videos
