Welcome to Sapling Class - Y3/Y4
Welcome to our class page. I am Mrs Young and I am so excited to be Saplings class new teacher!
In Saplings we strive to have a calm environment, work hard and have fun. We celebrate our successes and learn from our mistakes. We love to succeed, but we are not afraid to fail. This gives us an opportunity to learn. We call them our 'Marvellous Mistakes'.
We are inspired by our new Growth Mindset philosophy!
Here you will find key updates on our learning, exciting things happening in class and your child's homework.
Our PE days are Tuesday and Friday, please ensure your child wears their PE kit into school on those days.
If you would like to contact the class teacher please use the contact form below.
If your child is unable to attend school due to compulsory self-isolation because of coronavirus, we ask them to:
Practice their weekly spellings which are on the website
Complete lessons from the appropriate year group for your child on Oak National Academy https://classroom.thenational.academy/schedule-by-year
Children off school for illness but are still able to do some work, you can complete the optional topic homework on the saplings homework page and watch bbc bitesize or other sites for relevant informative video clips
This term our topic is 'Burps, Bottoms and Bile' Through this topic, the children will develop their knowledge of the human body and the purpose of the various organs. We will look particularly teeth and the digestive system, but will also touch on changes to our bodies from baby to adulthood as part of our PSHE. We are hoping to arrange for a dentist or dental hygienist to come to school to add to our knowledge.
Each week, there will be homework set on a Thursday and this is to be sent in by the following Tuesday please. Spelling test will be on a Tuesday morning.
